WordsMatter is a way to stay connected to the constant change happening across the world, from your computer, laptop, or phone, in your bed, at the shops, at your job, or in the library (or whatever gadget you are using). There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but this one is going to help you stay in contact with the topics that matter most to you, and make sure you know you play a big part in these conversations.

To start with, the topics will be ranging from critiques modern day media, literature, theatre, the law and legal industry, fashion, and general humanity – the best of it mostly. The idea with WordsMatter is to create blog posts that are as digestible and concise as possible. You have the knowledge and you have the power in you to help make change happen, we are your tools and your guidance because everybody needs a community backing them.

Haven’t considered reading about these topics before? Here’s why you should: How many of you know the laws that keep you safe and your rights intact, and know how to use that knowledge to maintain your power, in an age where many are coming to learn that the police, and the politicians, are not our friends? We all deserve dignity and to know humanity. We can be the best of humanity, we just have to be conscious, and to take a minute of our day to take others into our consideration. Nobody here is a stranger to the twisted lies, weaponised by the media, since the beginning of the human race, most societies need an underdog, and -- . One important thing to learn on this blog, is to know who the real enemy is. It does not matter who you are. Your enemies are racial/ethnic minorities, refugees, the homeless, queer and trans people, the women, the activists, the vegans, the eco-warriors, or your fellow person trying to get through day to day and to say earnestly to themselves, they are doing more than surviving.

We also use reputable sources, clear to reference, with accurate statistics from a variety of sources, so you feel equipped in pursuing further knowledge on the topics that interest you and motivate you to gain a greater standing of. And I hope you share that understanding with others because the world needs a whole lot more of understanding. Together, we will learn to communicate the words that we all have in us and are so important to say. If you can stick with me on this journey, I think we can help each other change the world as much as it in our power to. And we all have SO much more power than we know. I believe in you. Will you believe in me too?

We will be getting started with the Simpsons Paradox, how our perspective on how we understand statistics change once we introduce a divide of the populations into subsections. England has been known to harbour harmful stereotypes, perpetrated by a misunderstood statistic. An example of this could be the majority of homicides committed by white men against white men, most common in lower-income areas, whilst black men are most commonly found to be the victims in homicides when overlooking the further divisions of race in connection to homicides.

So, whether you are reading this in your bed, at the shops, at your job, or in the library give yourself a minute, and ask how you really feel about it. You have a lot to offer by sharing your thoughts and your voice, as much as you do listening to others’ voices.

Why Words Matter and how we can use them to create an impact

We all need to believe in the power of words. We all need to try our best to use them effectively. Trust your experiences and insights and use them to create change. Trust yourself. And listen to the words of others. Stay open to the perspectives of others. You do not know their lives and tribulations in the same way that they do not know yours. Take a breath, take as much time as you want, but remember tomorrow is not guaranteed; through passion, you will find the words to express yourself. We all deserve to be able to express our thoughts and feelings that will occupy our minds and souls for all our lifetimes. Our feelings are valid, but not all thoughts and feelings have value to share with everybody, many things are simply a work in progress for as long as we are. Figuring out what we think and feel is aprt of the battle, expanding what we think and feel is a lot of it, and learning to understand what offers benefit when sharing is too.

HOW TO FIND THE WORDS (HOW??)

So many people try to divide, but no matter how hard it can be, we must express ourselves and use our words to stand up to division, we must use our voices to unite. You won't regret finding your voice. You won't regret speaking your peace after finding your thoughtful and considerate but still passionate voice. Choosing your words carefully, is some of the battle, but again, it is not all of it. Having some of it figured out, but not enough to hare is frustrating, so sometimes you have to take a risk by sharing it and figuring it out along the way. If you stay open to adapting and expanding your perspective, you will grow as a person and your writing will grow with you. People say you have to experience true challenges to grow, while they force you to at the very least expand your perspective, you can learn by listening to others and paying attentions to what they are saying and feeling. Watching life outside of your bubble, hearing voices from places you haven't seen and lives you will never experience, and speaking to people whose experiences differ and travelling when you can is maybe the best way to develop your perspective. You will be able to offer more to contribute/constitute positive change. You have heard the phrase to write, you must live first. I think learning to live alone makes you grow greatly and adapt more harshly, helpful for survival, helpful for living too, but we can live most vibrantly when benefitting the world around us. Living around people, growing around people, there is value around that that can't be found fighting our darkest demons alone. What I am saying is, don't always be a lonely writer, and don't always be a lonely thinker, grow your community and contribute. If you want to know what is missing, go to a new place with new people, and learn what you can from them. Learn how differently you can live.

PRO TIP: Follow your fears, and let them take you somewhere beyond what you could have imagined for yourself. Stop trying to control what your life looks like, let go, and learn to live. Some fear is in control and sometimes it is in freedom. Find your freedom and don't stop charging after it. Take a deep breath. Now go.
